Herb 04:19
that garden where he lay, his sweat and his pain with calloused knees and hands, he tamed the whole land that creek where he dreamed of life that bursted seams with tender hand and heart, these joys he did impart that girl whom he loved when life got too rough he'd lay his head down on her lap and she'd hum their song we've been runnin' through these days, fighting the haze of life but in the midst of this strife you loved me though i could not recognize that God that he knew, sorrow they'd walk through he'd lean upon that grace and sing 'til morning came we've been runnin' through these days, fighting the haze of life but in the midst of this strife you loved me though i could not recognize

My Friend 03:20
the storm comes in my room and i think of you and the way you'd run like the setting sun when things went wrong where did you go my only friend? i couldn't find you and i got swept up in the wind the rain it crashes against my pain, just the same way your words slam my ears in the midst of all these fears what did you say my only friend? where did you go? my one regret were the words that i said the clouds part from the sky and i reason why when this hell goes away will you come back and stay? for i need you here my only friend i'll leave the door open my friend and my only regret were the words that i said

trust is a fickle thing, a wall that i cannot see where all i can do is run, when i fear you've gotta loaded gun o my heart is weak, i stand on two feeble feet and when i start to lean, i look for the gasoline 'cause i've burned down home i fear i'll end up alone you stand in the old ruins so how long are you gonna stay my friend? i've got some ugly scars, like cracks in a mason jar so when you look at me ignore what you don't care to see yet right here you wait, i've emptied all excuses to make as the embers die, we watch the encroaching night for i want you to stay as our twilight fades away let's lay under the stars for awhile before my fear takes me to lonely exile
4.
Broken Heart 04:20
broken heart i prayed you see the good Lord's heart how His face shines upon and from His fellowship not part i've seen the days come fast i've seen the nights fall slow i've seen wicked men arise from the shadows may taste an unfailing truth may you see His unfound love may you rest in arms of the God above weary mind please trust that your endless thoughts will find a home where in His presence we fall flat, where our doubts no longer roam i've seen rushing of the wind i've seen the coming of the rain i've seen righteousness cover my stain may you walk and hold to Thee may you run the whole day long may you sing of His faithfulness all along, all along
5.
where do i go when i'm filled with sorrow on hopes of tomorrow where do i go? in whom do i hide when my strength is dry and my love is all a lie in whom do i hide? when hopes are laid on the floor and i see they're all a folk lore yeah so i believed in lies i now despise how can you look me in the eye? why do i flee when you see straight through me all my walls and formalities why do i flee? how can you trust a man so completely lost a love so easily tossed how can you trust? all my hopes are dashed to the rocks only to your heart do i flock o to rest in you, the God who knew me in the garden and when i had fallen

about

This short album came from fumbling around with a guitar and quietly singing, as to not wake up roommates, through the past year or so. I never imagined I would share these songs outside of a few house shows. I write songs for lots of reasons, but two come to mind most often. The first is simply to create, I believe humans are made to make things so I find an inexpressible joy in creating. The second is a means to process life. Life is beautiful, painful, sometimes boring and sometimes exciting - this often confuses me. Songwriting helps me look at big things, or little things, in life and, in a way, see it through a new lens. I'm thankful and grateful to be able to share these songs with you and hope you find something comforting and challenging in them.

I don't see my music as simply just for me but also for the people that listen to it. I'm so thankful for the support that made this album, and my music in general possible. If you've connected to some part of my music or feel led in any way, please consider donating on top of the cost of the album. Your support makes this possible!
